By law, anyone who gives driving instruction
for money should display a green DSA issued octagon Licence
on the windscreen of their training car. Trainee instructors
may give instruction during the final part of their Instructor
training but they must display a pink triangular License. The
instructor is a fully qualified DSA Green licence holder.
All
instructors have to undergo periodic check tests by DSA (Driving
Standards Agency) senior examiners to ensure methods of instruction
are of a good standard. Instructors are graded from 1 - 6 and
a score of below four would require the instructor to improve
his standard of teaching. I am a grade 5 instructor which means
my instruction is classified as of a good overall standard.
I already hold a CRB police check certificate which will be
mandatory for all ADI's shortly.
